Each year the Budget is made available for public review. The public will have several weeks to review the 2010 & 2011 Proposed Financial Plan before the public hearings scheduled to take place on December 14, 2009. The public hearings on the Financial Plan provide residents with the opportunity to comment upon and make suggestions about the Financial Plan to the City Council.
The public hearing for the proposed 2010 Financial Plan will occur first during the Regular Meeting of the City Council on December 14, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. It will be immediately followed by the public hearing for the proposed 2011 Financial Plan. After the public hearings are held, the Financial Plan may be revised and passed without any further inspection, notice or hearing.
The 2010 & 2011 Proposed Financial Plan is available for public inspection at City Hall, the Collinsville Public Library, or online (click here to view PDF version).
Based on the current language of the Budget Act (Illinois State Statute: 65 ILCS 5/8-2-9.1 to 9.11), the document for the first year of the Biennial Financial Plan (2010) will be considered for approval by the City Council at their December 28, 2009 Regular Meeting; the document for the second year of the Biennial Financial Plan (2011) will be considered for approval by the City Council at their January 11, 2010 Regular Meeting.
This Document is the culmination of considerable work by residents and the entire organization. Priorities were established within the framework of the Strategic Plan and the Goals of the organization. The City Council gave its direction, the Departments Head and Staff at all levels of the organization then worked to meets these priorities and to stay within the parameters given by the Council.
