Three Arrested for Armed Robbery PDF Print E-mail

On Saturday, January 22, 2011, at approximately 0031 hours, the Collinsville Police Department responded to a reported armed robbery in the 1100 block of Apache Street.  While units were responding to the victim’s 911 call, Collinsville Police Department Officer Paul Kilquist stopped the suspect after he observed it traveling the wrong way on a one way street.

 

Willie Thomas, 24 years of age, of 80 block Lauralee Drive, Cahokia, Illinois, Anthony Williams, 23 years of age, of the 4300 block of Mcasland Avenue, East St. Louis, Illinois, and Quran Phillips, 24 years of age, of the 800 block of Edgemont, Illinois were located inside the suspect vehicle during the traffic stop.

 

After the suspect vehicle was positively identified, Thomas, Williams, and Phillips were arrested by the Collinsville Police Department; no one was injured during the arrest.  Two stolen firearms and the victim’s property were located in the vehicle.  Additionally, some of the victim’s property was located on a suspect’s person following his arrest.

 

A records check of Thomas revealed that the was a fugitive.  Thomas was wanted by the City of Indianola, Sunflower County, Mississippi for the offense of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Kidnapping.  On January 24, 2011, Thomas was charged by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Officer with Fugitive from Justice, no bond.

 

Additionally, Thomas, Williams, and Phillips were all charged with the following:

 

·         Count I:  Armed Robbery, a Class X Felony

·         Count II:  Possession of Stolen Firearm, a Class 2 Felony

·         Count III:  Possession of Stolen Firearm, a Class 2 Felony

·         Count IV:  Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class 4 Felony

 

Bond was set at $200,000.00 for each defendant and they are currently being held at the Collinsville Police Department pending transport to the Madison County Jail.
