I would like to congratulate Officer Todd Kunz for being named Officer of the Month for May 2011. Sergeant Brett Boerm nominated him for this award.
During the month of May, Patrolman Kunz generated a total of 62 incidents; His activity included 6 arrests, 19 traffic stops and 10 vehicle/pedestrian/building checks. Patrolman Kunz’s activity generated the following arrests: 3 DUI arrests, 1 felony warrant, and 1 misdemeanor warrant arrest. He also issued 9 traffic citations during the month of May. It should be noted that all of his activity was generated while working patrol only 8 days during the month of May due to training obligations.
Those 8 days proved to be productive for Officer Kunz. He dedicated a large portion of his time of his enforcement efforts in identifying and arresting impaired drivers. As indicated, he arrested three alcohol impaired drivers during the month of May, one of which qualified as a felony DUI arrest. Officer Kunz is a fifteen year veteran of the Collinsville Police Department and continues forward with the mission of the Police Department by increasing efforts to focus on DUI enforcement. This type of proactive policing serves as evidence that he is mindful of the Police Departments mission, vision, and goals in making this a one of the safest cities in the metropolitan area
Although these arrests and activities aren’t typical of those that normally garner headlines or make news they are an intricate part of the proactive approach to law enforcement subscribed to by the Collinsville Police Department. Patrolman Kunz continues to prove his self to be dedicated employee of the Collinsville Police Department and it is an honor to commend him his efforts.
