Local Man Killed in Fatal Crash PDF Print E-mail

The Collinsville Police Department is currently investigating a fatal accident that occurred on 07/15/2010 at 6:35 p.m. The accident happened in the 1700 Block of N. Bluff Road. Terry Gentry, 53 of rural Collinsville was pronounced dead at the scene by The Madison County Coroners Office. The driver of the second car, a 19 year old Downs, IL woman was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The Wood River Police Department is assisting in the accident reconstruction. At this point in the investigation the cause of the accident has not been determined.

On 03/18/2010, at about 11:24 P.M. the Collinsville Police responded to 226 S. Clinton to assist EMS in reference to a stabbing victim. Upon arrival the officers met with the 47 year old male victim. The victim was bleeding from a neck wound and he advised the officers that his brother had stabbed him at his brothers residence, located at 308 E. Church.

 

Officers responded to that residence in an attempt to make contact with the suspect and he refused to come to the door. The officers secured the residence and contacted the Region 8 WMD Special Response Team. The SRT officers used a loud speaker to convince the subject to surrender. The subject came out of his residence and was arrested after a brief struggle. There were no further injuries.

 

Darvin Zucha 44, of 308 E. Church was charged today by the Madison County States Attorney office with aggravated domestic battery, a class 2 felony. His bond was set at $75,000.00 by Judge Charles Romani . He is in custody at the Collinsville Police Department.
