Collinsville Receives Community Development Block Grant Funding
Collinsville, Illinois - July 16, 2013 - The Madison County Community Development (MCCD) announced in June that the City will receive Block Grant funding in the amount of $100,000 for the South Aurora Water Main Replacement project. The City’s application for funding for this project has been approved by the Grants Committee and the Madison County Board.
The $100,000 funding is expected to be available in early October 2013 with the water main replacement project beginning in January 2014. This project will provide much needed improvement to the fire protection and water quality of this area.
“We are excited our application for this funding was approved,” stated Collinsville Mayor John Miller. “Projects like this would be extremely difficult for the City to take on and accomplish without the assistance of grant programs like this one.”
The Mission of the City of Collinsville is to provide superior municipal services through an engaged workforce and by partnering with the community while being responsible stewards of the public tax dollars resulting in satisfied customers.
